AN INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE WAS HELD ON THE TOPIC “SCIENCE IS THE BASIS OF A NEW UZBEKISTAN”

An International scientific conference dedicated to the 80th Anniversary of the creation of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the topic “Science is the basis of the new Uzbekistan” was held.

It presents major international scientists from the USA, Russia, Mongolia, China, Belarus, Turkey, Georgia, India, Azerbaijan, Tatarstan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Iran and other countries, Uzbek scientific universities, academicians, experienced specialists from various fields will participate.

Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Shakhlo Turdikulova spoke at the plenary session and gave information on the financing of state scientific programs.

In particular, within the framework of State scientific programs for 2019-2023, 237 scientific projects were financed with a total value of 377.6 billion soums. Of these, 129 are practical with a total value of 190.9 billion soums, 35 innovative with a total value of 36.2 billion soums, 72 fundamental and general with a total value of 150.1 billion soums. 1 pilot construction project worth 0.5 billion soums has been financed.

This is 21 percent of the total number of projects funded under government scientific programs during 2019-2023. In particular, as of November 2023, 106 scientific projects with a total value of 108.6 billion soums have been completed. Using the funds of the fund, 194 pieces of equipment worth a total of 15 million US dollars were purchased and supplied to the institutes of the Academy of Sciences.
