President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim held talks with the participation of official delegations of the two countries.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Head of the Malaysian government conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from King Sultan Ibrahim of Malaysia to the President of Uzbekistan, expressing sincere gratitude for the warm and cordial welcome provided to the Malaysian delegation.

During the talks, issues of further expansion of Uzbek-Malaysian friendship relations and multifaceted partnership were discussed.

The President of Uzbekistan stressed that this high-level visit, which is the first in the last 16 years, opens a new era in the history of bilateral relations.

– Malaysia is a dynamically developing country with great potential not only in the Southeast Asian region, but also around the world. Our main goal is to bring practical cooperation with your country to a qualitatively new level, the President of Uzbekistan stressed.

The importance of further strengthening political dialogue and inter-parliamentary ties, continuing mutual support within international organizations, implementing humanitarian and educational programs, and intensifying tourist and cultural exchange was noted.
