A CONFERENCE ON THE ASSESSMENT OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE SKILLS WAS HELD IN TASHKENT

The British Council, in partnership with the Ministries of Education of Uzbekistan, held a conference on the Assessment of English Language Skills.

On March 10, 2023, in Tashkent, the British Council, the UK International Organization for Cultural and Educational Relations, in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation and the Ministry of Preschool and School Education of Uzbekistan, organized a conference on the assessment of English language skills at the Uzbekistan State World Languages University.

In the Year of Care and Quality Education declared by the President of Uzbekistan in 2023, the New Directions Series conference on English proficiency in Uzbekistan became a platform for discussing how the assessment of skills in foreign languages can influence the quality and reforms in the field of education in schools and universities.

This event was attended by 250 experts, including representatives of industry departments, language assessment specialists, heads of educational institutions and researchers. The Conference presented various perspectives, international trends and approaches to assessing English language skills both in Uzbekistan and in other countries.
