A HANDWRITTEN POEM BY VICTOR HUGO RESURFACES AT THE COLLÈGE VICTOR-HUGO IN BESANÇON

A forgotten poem was discovered during cleaning at the Hugo College in France.

The precious text, composed of two quatrains, had been sold in the establishment in 1951. It was rediscovered in December, buried in a cupboard beside documents of the archive.

Two simple quatrains, in however invaluable value. Glued together on the back of the frame, certificates certify the value of the booty. They prove that the poem, called The poor Children, was written by very Victor Hugo.
