A MEETING WAS HELD AT THE UZBEK-AMERICAN SOCIETY OF COMPATRIOTS IN BROOKLYN

On January 24, 2024, the delegation from UzSWLU led by Ra’no Madjidova, the project manager of “Intensive multimedia products for teaching Uzbek to speakers of foreign languages”, met with Abdumalik Ahmedov, the head of the Uzbek-American Compatriots Association in Brooklyn, USA.

During the visit, a group of professors of UzSWLU, including the head of the practical project “Multimedia products that intensively teach the Uzbek language for speakers of foreign languages” Madjidova Rano Urishevna, Mukhitdinova Khadicha Sabirovna and associate professors Zilola Salisheva, Polat Omanov met with Abdumalik Ahmedov, head of Uzbek-American compatriots’ society located in Brooklyn, USA, in order to implement the results of the practical project “Multimedia products that intensively teach the Uzbek language for native speakers”.

During the visit, the officials were introduced with the process of teaching Uzbek and English to the children of our compatriots living in America, and the existing challenges and needs were studied.

On January 28, the delegation flew from New York to Chicago. On January 29, under the leadership of Rano Urishevno, professors and teachers of UzSWLU, who were on a business trip to the United States, visited the Chicago community of patriots, where they primarily visited the educational center and observed Uzbek language classes for young children.

Professor Khadicha Mukhitdinova gifted her textbooks and “Uzbek-English picture dictionary” books to Maftuna Mahmudova, the teacher of the Uzbek language at the educational center.

In the afternoon, a meeting was organized between the members of the delegation led by Rano Urishevna, the head of the Uzbek-American Society of Citizens in Chicago, Olimjon Sharipov, and the teachers of the educational center.

At the meeting, the Uzbek-American compatriots’ society introduced activities aimed at ensuring that the younger generation does not forget the Uzbek language and culture, including classes and events organized for children from 6 to 14-15 years old, to train them to become good professionals in the future, the efforts their activities in Uzbekistan.

During the program, Madjidova Rano Urishevna, head of the practical project “Multimedia products that intensively teach the Uzbek language for speakers of foreign languages” and other specialists of the delegation, provided the educational centers with Uzbek language textbooks and methodical manuals. A beneficial agreement was reached on those issues, in particular, on the creation of an electronic textbook.
