About the conference

Central Asia Model UN is the main project implemented by the Public Association “The Country of the Great Steppe” with the support of the General Partner – Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy, as well as with the assistance of traditional partners – the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbassy, Nazarbayev University Model UN, “Turan” Model UN, KazGUU Model UN, as well as NIS Astana and NIS Semey Model UN clubs.

The founders of the NGO “The Country of the Great Steppe”, who are also members of the Central Asia Model UN Coordination Center, are actively working to popularize the Model UN as an international movement.

On September 21-22, 2018, I International Central Asia Model UN was held on the basis of the Nazarbayev Center. There were more than 160 participants from all over Kazakhstan, as well as from Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, India, Pakistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Germany, etc.
Please, note that the conference will be held in Nur-Sultan (Astana) on September 27-28, 2019. The CAMUN Coordination Center does not cover your trip expenses and you are responsible for planning your trip (buying tickets, finding accommodation, etc.).

Deadline for submitting applications – August 25. Applicants who are accepted will receive an email before August 31, 2019.

If you need a visa to enter Kazakhstan, please make sure to fill in the application form before July 29, 2019. You will receive an email about the decision regarding your candidacy before August 5, 2018.

Scholarships

In order to become an applicant for a scholarship you need to:

• Fill out the registration form (IMPORTANT, do not forget to write a motivation letter)
• Record a minute video in English/Kazakh/Russian (depending on the committee you are choosing) on the topic ‘Why should I receive a scholarship’ and post it on any social network with the hashtag #CAMUN2019_Scholarship
• Send your CV and a link to the video to info.camun@gmail.com. Please, send your email with a subject line “YourName_YourSurname_Scholarship_application”.

Deadline for scholarship applications: July 8, 2019. Successfully accepted scholars will be informed before July 21, 2019.
