INAUGURATION OF PRESIDENT SHAVKAT MIRZIYOYEV HELD IN TASHKENT

President-elect Shavkat Mirziyoyev today was sworn in at the joint session of the two chambers of the Parliament of Uzbekistan and assumed presidential office.

Mirziyoyev, the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan candidate, gained 80.12% of votes in the 24 October presidential election. The voter turnout made 80.4%.

The inauguration of the President was held in the new building of the Senate. The flag and sign of the President, which were approved in October 2021, were brought into the plenary session room of the Senate prior to the start of the ceremony.

Central Election Commission Chairman Zainiddin Nizamhojaev presented the President’s ID card to Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The newly elected President then was sworn in.
