I sincerely congratulate you on the opening of the international conference dedicated to the comprehensive study of the Jadid movement, which was formed at the beginning of the last century and left a deep mark on the history of not only the Central Asian region but also the entire Muslim and Turkic world.

In-depth study and popularization, in cooperation with representatives of partner states and international organizations, and well-known foreign scientists, of the outstanding work of our enlightenment ancestors, which has become a bright page in our common history, their rich heritage, which has not lost its value and significance today, is our priority task.

I express my sincere gratitude to the heads and representatives of reputable international organizations participating in our forum, as well as leading scientists and experts from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, the Russian Federation, Hungary, the USA, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Japan and other countries who supported our initiative to hold this conference.

Dear friends!

Despite numerous studies in many countries of the processes of formation and development of such a unique socio-political phenomenon as Jadidism, a comprehensive study on a conceptual and systemic basis of the enormous contribution of the figures of this movement to the formation of national statehood, regional identity, and civil society in Central Asia remains very relevant.

We all know that the Jadids, who came up with the noble idea of “Unity in language, thoughts and actions,” believed that the awakening of peoples and their liberation from the shackles of backwardness and ignorance is possible only through the dissemination of knowledge and enlightenment, secular development.
