ISSUES OF STRENGTHENING COOPERATION IN THE FIELD OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY WITH THE AMBASSADOR OF SLOVAKIA WERE DISCUSSED

On January 11, First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Komiljon Karimov received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic to Uzbekistan Viktor Boretsky. The parties discussed issues of strengthening mutual cooperation between the two countries in the field of higher and professional education and scientific activities.

The Ambassador spoke about relations between the two countries in recent years and noted interest in expanding cooperation in the field of higher and professional education. During the dialogue, proposals were made to hold days of Slovak universities in Uzbekistan, introduce a program of Slovak scholarships for citizens of Uzbekistan, and establish student exchanges. K. Karimov commented on the possibilities of joint financing and implementation of joint scientific projects.

Also, special attention was paid to issues of cooperation in the field of vocational education. In particular, the ambassador emphasized the need to train personnel for the automotive industry in Slovakia by creating a dual education system with professional technical educational institutions, organizing special courses and exams for graduates.

The parties agreed to continue the dialogue on the discussed areas.
