THE STUDY UNDER THE TURKISH SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM WILL BE EXPANDED

On November 20, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Kongratbai Sharipov received a delegation headed by Chairman of the Department of Foreign Turks and Tribal Societies Abdullah Ehren.

The parties discussed issues of further expansion and development of Turkish-Uzbek cooperation in the field of higher education, in particular, the Uzbek side’s close acquaintance with the Turkish Scholarships program provided by the Office of Foreign Turks and Tribal Societies.

During the dialogue, it was suggested that he could allocate grant places (quotas) in specific areas in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation.

The parties also agreed on professional training. Higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan have agreed to organize short-term internship courses for Turkish language teachers called “Education-travel”.

The Department of Foreign Turks and People’s Societies annually allocates 3,500 scholarships (grants) from the state budget to citizens of foreign countries who have expressed a desire to study at state higher educational institutions in Turkey.
