“The Sharq Taronalari Festival” started in Samarkand and has become a festival of melodies worldwide. The opening ceremony of the thirteenth Sharq Taronalari International Music Festival was attended by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and delivered a welcoming speech.

At the beginning of his speech, the head of our state greeted the guests and expressed his best wishes on behalf of our people. He noted that today the Shark Taronalari festival has become a festival of melodies of the world in its essence and significance.

In recent years, the number of such events has increased in our country. International festivals of Makom, Bakhshi, handicrafts, folklore and dance festivals “Buyuk Ipak Yuli” and “Lyazgi”, the Tashkent International Film Festival are regularly held.

They have become a kind of noble appeal of Uzbekistan to humanity for peace and harmony, friendship and solidarity.

– In these troubled times, it is increasingly difficult to preserve the original and humanistic values. In such a difficult situation, true art, music and literature, originating from sacred sources, glorifying the ideals of humanism, must enter the arena as a life-affirming force, bringing peace and goodness to people, overcoming the boundaries of time and space, the President of Uzbekistan noted.

In this context, it is proposed to create a separate encyclopedia and its virtual version – a multifunctional information platform reflecting the history and traditions of the Sharq Taronalari festival, containing extensive information about the rich and diverse musical culture of the East, as well as to organize an International Club of Friends of the festival. An initiative has been put forward to hold concert programs with the participation of the winners and prize-winners of the festival on prestigious stages around the world.

In total, more than 400 artists and scientists from almost 80 countries are taking part in the festival this year.

An international scientific and practical conference on the theme “Musical Culture of the Peoples of the East: Principles of Creative Integration in the Processes of Globalization” will be held within the framework of the festival.
