A NUMBER OF AGREEMENTS SIGNED BETWEEN UZBEKISTAN AND THE UNITED STATES IN PRIORITY AREAS

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as part of his business program during the visit to Washington, participated in the signing ceremony of bilateral documents and the presentation of joint projects.

The event was attended by representatives of the U.S. Government and financial institutions, including Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, Special Presidential Envoy Paolo Zampolli, President of the Export-Import Bank of the United States John Jovanovich, Chair of the U.S.-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce Carolyn Lamm, as well as executives of major companies such as John Deere, Valmont Industries, Gulf Oil, BlackRock, Oppenheimer and others. Regional leaders of Uzbekistan also joined the dialogue via videoconference.

In his speech, the Head of State emphasized that this meeting was a logical continuation of the previous roundtable discussion and that economic partnership is entering a new stage based on strategic trust and mutual interest.

Priority areas identified included critical raw materials, petrochemicals, energy, agriculture, poultry farming, and other sectors. The growing role of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation and the Export-Import Bank in supporting projects was particularly highlighted.

Following the meeting, bilateral documents were signed on the construction of a network of fuel stations, the introduction of sprinkler irrigation technologies, the extraction and supply of critical minerals, the establishment of a poultry cluster, the development of the agro-industrial sector, as well as the improvement of the financial market and investment climate.

These agreements will further strengthen economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States.
