INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC AND PRACTICAL SEMINARS HELD WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF UZBEKISTAN–ITALY COOPERATION
February 4, 2026In the city of Samarkand, with the support of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and in cooperation between Samarkand State University of Architecture and Construction and Gabriele d’Annunzio University of Chieti–Pescara (Italy), two-day international scientific and practical seminars were organized.
At the official opening ceremony, the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Kungratbay Sharipov, delivered a speech emphasizing that Uzbekistan–Italy academic and scientific cooperation is entering a new stage focused on practical outcomes.


The Minister noted that this cooperation is being advanced through joint educational programs, dual-degree projects, research activities, and the establishment of innovation centers. He also highlighted that experience exchange with Italian partners in the fields of urbanization, sustainable cities, engineering and architecture, ecology, and seismic safety is contributing to strengthening the country’s higher education and scientific capacity.


The two-day events played an important role in further strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and Italy in the fields of education, science, and innovation, as well as in developing scientific and practical solutions for modern urban planning and seismic safety.
Within the framework of the seminars, memorandums of understanding were signed between Samarkand State University of Architecture and Construction and Gabriele d’Annunzio University of Chieti–Pescara (Italy), Hanseo University (Republic of Korea), Karakalpak State University, and Crisci Management (Italy). Agreements on cooperation in the development of innovation and startups were also established.
