LEADERS OF CENTRAL ASIAN COUNTRIES AND AZERBAIJAN VISITED THE CENTER FOR ISLAMIC CIVILIZATION IN TASHKENT
November 15, 2025The Presidents of the regional countries and Azerbaijan, who arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the Seventh Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, visited the Center for Islamic Civilization in Tashkent together with the President of Uzbekistan.

Established on the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan, the center is the first complex in our history that brings together unique sources, scientific research directions, and educational activities dedicated to preserving and promoting the invaluable heritage of Islamic civilization.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, and President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, accompanied by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, visited the Quran Hall, where the invaluable spiritual treasure of the Muslim world — the Mushaf of Uthman — is preserved. As one of the oldest handwritten copies of the Quran, this rare manuscript holds great historical and cultural significance, symbolizing the deep spiritual ties that have shaped the civilizational identity of the peoples of our region.
The leaders also familiarized themselves with the sections “Pre-Islamic Civilizations,” “First Renaissance,” “Second Renaissance,” and “New Uzbekistan — New Renaissance,” which highlight the rich intellectual and spiritual legacy of great scholars such as Imam Bukhari, Imam Tirmidhi, Abu Mansur Maturidi, Bahauddin Naqshband, and others.

During the visit, the heads of state emphasized the importance of strengthening cultural cooperation, advancing joint spiritual and educational initiatives, and promoting shared humanitarian values. Uzbekistan’s extensive efforts in preserving and promoting the region’s common heritage were highly praised. The leaders expressed confidence that the center will serve as a modern hub for scientific, educational, and cultural cooperation, opening new horizons for collaboration among the countries of the region.
