MORE THAN 20 AGREEMENTS SIGNED WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE FIRST UZBEKISTAN–LATVIA EDUCATION FORUM
September 6, 2025The First Uzbekistan–Latvia Education Forum was held in Riga with the participation of the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan, Qo‘ng‘irotboy Sharipov.


This prestigious forum brought together representatives of the ministries of higher education of both countries, as well as the heads of more than 50 leading higher education institutions. The event was aimed at expanding cooperation in the fields of education and science, implementing joint scientific projects, promoting academic mobility of students and faculty, and developing joint educational programs.
As a result of the forum, plans were outlined to sign more than 20 cooperation agreements, establish joint academic and research activities between universities of the two countries, and launch collaborative projects in such priority areas as transport, information and communication technologies, logistics, energy, green economy, healthcare, mechanical engineering, and tourism.


Currently, about 1,300 Uzbek students are studying at Latvian universities, while in recent years more than 40 professors from Uzbekistan have completed internships at Latvian higher education institutions. To date, over 40 cooperation agreements have been signed between Uzbekistan and Latvia, under which a number of joint educational programs are successfully operating.
