NATIONAL FORUM LAUNCHED UNDER THE PRESETT PROGRAMME

The National Forum under the British Council’s PRESETT programme has officially begun its work.

On 6 January 2026, a national forum titled “National Forum on the Modernisation of English Language Education” was launched in Tashkent within the framework of the British Council’s PRESETT programme.

The event is aimed at modernising English language education in Uzbekistan, with a particular focus on improving the system for training future English language teachers.

The forum is organised by the British Council in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Preschool and School Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan. More than 220 specialists from over 50 public and private higher education institutions across the country involved in training prospective English language teachers are taking part in the forum.

Within the framework of the forum, participants are discussing priority areas for modernising the PRESETT system, existing challenges and possible solutions. In addition, training sessions are being held to strengthen reflective practice, inclusive education, and the activities of the PRESETT community of practice.
