NEGOTIATIONS WERE HELD BETWEEN PRESIDENT SHAVKAT MIRZIYOYEV AND HUNGARIAN PRIME MINISTER VIKTOR ORBÁN
May 20, 2025Negotiations were held between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, in both a narrow format and with the participation of official delegations.

The discussions focused on further strengthening the strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Hungary.
Special attention was given to expanding practical cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian spheres.
An initiative was proposed to declare the coming year as the Year of Culture of Uzbekistan and Hungary.


Cooperation within the framework of the Stipendium Hungaricum academic exchange program will continue. In addition, the sides discussed the introduction of a system for issuing diplomas recognized in both countries, as well as the possibility of establishing branches of Hungarian higher education institutions in Uzbekistan.
In this context, a proposal was made to hold the third Uzbekistan–Hungary Rectors’ Forum in Tashkent later this year.
