NEW PROSPECTS FOR COOPERATION DISCUSSED AT THE REGIONAL MINISTERS’ ROUND TABLE

Sardor Rajabov, First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan, participated in the Regional Ministers’ Round Table held on 25 November in Tashkent under the chairmanship of Nunzio Quacquarelli, President and Chair of the Board of QS (Quacquarelli Symonds).

The event was also attended by Nurbek Sayasat, Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan, and Emin Amrullayev, Minister of Science and Education of Azerbaijan.

The discussion focused on the future of higher education in the region, international experience, and the importance of regional cooperation. During the dialogue, the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan were highlighted, including efforts to enhance university autonomy, align educational programs with labor market needs, develop innovation ecosystems, and introduce employment outcomes as key performance indicators.

It was noted that cooperation with universities in Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan contributes to strengthening the academic reputation of Uzbekistan’s higher education institutions in the QS rankings.

Participants emphasized that integrating international experience and expanding cooperation across the Eurasian region could create a unified platform for the rapid modernization of higher education, advancing academic excellence, and ensuring sustainable development.
