Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan
Taking into account the growing importance of the blessed Eid al-Adha — a symbol of the noble values of compassion, humanism, gratitude, generosity, and tolerance inherent in our people and holding an essential place in our spiritual life for centuries — in the current context of building a social state in New Uzbekistan, as well as with the aim of celebrating and observing this sacred holiday in a worthy manner and preserving and glorifying our national and religious values, I hereby decree:
- The information from the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan regarding the first day of the blessed Eid al-Adha in 2025 falling on Friday, June 6, shall be accepted. June 6 shall be widely celebrated as the Eid al-Adha holiday across our country.
- In order to create favorable conditions for the population to celebrate Eid al-Adha appropriately, June 7, 2025 (Saturday), shall be declared an additional day off for employees working a six-day week schedule.
- The Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regional and Tashkent city khokimiyats, together with the Committee for Religious Affairs, the Mahalla Foundation, the National Agency for Social Protection, and other partner organizations, shall implement relevant measures to hold the Eid al-Adha celebrations in accordance with the national traditions and customs of our people.
- The Committee for Tourism, in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport, shall create favorable conditions and opportunities for organizing pilgrimages for our citizens to revered shrines and historical sites during the Eid al-Adha holiday.
- The National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan, the National News Agency of Uzbekistan, and other mass media are recommended to provide broad coverage of the events related to the celebration of Eid al-Adha.
- The responsibility for overseeing the implementation of this decree shall be assigned to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, A. N. Aripov, and the Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, R. K. Davletov.
