PRESIDENT OF UZBEKISTAN OUTLINES PRIORITY AREAS FOR COOPERATION AT THE “CENTRAL ASIA – ITALY” SUMMIT

On May 30, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in the “Central Asia – Italy” summit held in Astana. The event was chaired by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The summit was also attended by the leaders of Central Asian countries and Prime Minister of Italy Giorgia Meloni. The participants discussed expanding cooperation in areas such as investment, technology, the green economy, education, and culture.

In his speech, President Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of strengthening strategic partnership with Europe and proposed the establishment of permanent platforms for dialogue — the “Central Asia – Italy” Business Club, a scientific-educational consortium, and a tourism alliance.

Uzbekistan also expressed its readiness to implement joint projects in the fields of renewable energy, hydrogen technologies, high-tech manufacturing, and infrastructure modernization.

The summit concluded with the adoption of a Joint Declaration.
