PRESIDENT SHAVKAT MIRZIYOYEV TO TAKE PART IN THE 43RD SESSION OF THE UNESCO GENERAL CONFERENCE IN SAMARKAND

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will take part in the opening ceremony of the 43rd session of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) General Conference, to be held in the city of Samarkand on October 30.

This historic session is being held outside UNESCO’s headquarters in Paris for the first time in forty years.

Hosting such a large-scale international forum in Samarkand is a vivid confirmation of Uzbekistan’s commitment to the organization’s ideals and values, as well as its firm determination to actively contribute to fostering global dialogue for peace, mutual understanding, and sustainable development.

Within the framework of this important session, more than 150 events of various formats are planned, focusing on key issues in the fields of education, science, culture, ecology, technology, and communications.
