SCIENTIFIC COOPERATION BETWEEN UZBEKISTAN AND CHINA CONTINUES TO EXPAND

A delegation led by Otabek Mahkamov, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, is currently on a working visit to the People’s Republic of China.

The delegation, which includes representatives from 13 leading higher education institutions of Uzbekistan, is focused on elevating scientific and technical cooperation between the two countries to a new level.

On June 10, 2025, an official meeting was held in Beijing between Otabek Mahkamov and Chen Xiaoqiang, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology of the PRC. During the talks, the parties reached agreements on strengthening collaboration in the fields of science and innovation, including the establishment of joint research centers, increasing the number of scientific projects, and implementing long-term programs in promising areas.

The meeting also included discussions and approvals on the development of a “Roadmap for Science and Innovation for 2025–2030,” organizing annual scientific forums, expanding internship programs for young researchers, and increasing the number of joint projects from 30 to 60 per year.
