SHAVKAT MIRZIYOYEV PUT FORWARD A NUMBER OF PROPOSALS AT THE SUMMIT OF THE ORGANIZATION OF TURKIC STATES

On May 21, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States, held in Budapest.

The event, chaired by Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán, was also attended by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Kubanychbek Omuraliev.

In line with the summit agenda, the leaders exchanged views on the current state and future prospects of multifaceted cooperation within the Organization and discussed pressing issues of practical collaboration.

In his address, the President of Uzbekistan emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation in the fields of science, culture, and education. It was noted that the opening of the International University of Turkic States in Tashkent would make a significant contribution to the implementation of educational programs among member states and to the training of talented youth.
