Today, on April 6, the official opening ceremony of the “New Uzbekistan Student Olympiad” sports competitions was held at the Olympic and Paralympic Glory Museum.
The large-scale project is being implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Sports, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, and the National Olympic Committee.
The ceremony was attended by a representative of the Presidential Administration Odil Abdurahmonov, Minister of Sports Adham Ikromov, First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Sardor Rajabov, First Deputy Chairman of the National Olympic Committee Otabek Umarov, as well as university rectors and representatives of sports federations.

Speakers emphasized that promoting a healthy and well-rounded generation is among the country’s top priorities. The Olympiad is expected to boost interest in mass sports and healthy lifestyles not only among students but across society.
According to Sardor Rajabov, the competition will contribute to the development of mass sports among students and is expected to engage millions of young people.


All stages of the competition will be monitored through the Ministry of Sports’ unified electronic system “ERP-sport.” To date, 168 higher education institutions (92 public, 52 private, and 24 foreign) have registered, with a total of 159,273 students willing to participate.
The competitions will be held in three stages:
• Stage 1: April 6–20
• Stage 2: May 1–15
• Final stage: June 1–10 (Olympic Village, Tashkent)
The program includes volleyball, handball, 3×3 basketball, table tennis, football, athletics, and swimming (starting from Stage 2).
