STUDENTS FROM UZBEKISTAN ACHIEVE OUTSTANDING RESULTS AT THE INTERNATIONAL MATHEMATICS OLYMPIAD OMOUS–2025

From April 13 to 18, 2025, the 5th Open Mathematics Olympiad for University Students (OMOUS–2025) was held in Turkmenistan.

This year’s Olympiad brought together talented students from nine countries: Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Iran, Romania, Poland, the UAE, Russia, and India.

Participants competed in fields such as combinatorics, algebra, geometry, and more, demonstrating their problem-solving abilities on an international stage. The Olympiad was held in two categories, allowing students to showcase their mathematical potential through problems of varying complexity.

Students from universities across Uzbekistan took part in this prestigious competition and achieved the following results:

In Category A (for students studying mathematics or computer science), they won a total of 3 gold, 7 silver, and 22 bronze medals.

In Category B (for students from other fields of study), Uzbek participants secured 6 gold, 6 silver, and 23 bronze medals.

In the team competitions (teams of up to 4 students from any academic discipline), they earned 4 silver and 7 bronze medals.
