THE SECOND UZBEKISTAN–CHINA EDUCATION FORUM TO BE HELD

As part of the official visit to China, today in Beijing negotiations took place between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping, with the participation of members of the official delegations.

The parties discussed further strengthening of the comprehensive strategic partnership and expansion of practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and China.

During the meeting, the importance of deepening cooperation in science, medicine, education, and tourism was emphasized. In Uzbekistan, a branch of the Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University and the International Mathematics Center have been opened. An Agreement on the establishment of a branch of Xi’an Petroleum University was signed, and the opening of a branch of the Beijing Institute of Technology is planned.

This year, the second Education Forum will be held in Uzbekistan. Support was expressed for expanding the study of the Chinese language, increasing quotas for educating Uzbek youth, and enhancing the activities of Confucius Institutes.
