UZBEK-FRENCH UNIVERSITY TO BE ESTABLISHED IN UZBEKISTAN
April 25, 2025A meeting was held between the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Kongratboy Sharipov, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Uzbekistan, Ms. Oriane Busquets.


During the meeting, issues related to the establishment of the Uzbek-French University within the framework of bilateral cooperation were discussed. It is planned that the university will be located on the campus of Tashkent State Technical University.
In order to implement educational programs, curricula, and accreditation processes in a prompt and coordinated manner, the proposal to establish a joint working group was put forward. The group will include representatives from Tashkent State Technical University, National University of Uzbekistan, Tashkent State Transport University, and Uzbekistan State World Languages University.


In addition, it was proposed to open a master’s program in French language and literature (without a preparatory course) starting from September 1, 2025. From the same date, preparatory courses for master’s programs in engineering (bioinformatics, renewable energy sources) and transport (intelligent logistics systems) will also be launched.
The parties also exchanged views on appointing the university’s rector and vice-rectors, including a French candidate. The French side announced that it is in the final stages of its internal procedures for appointing a vice-rector.

For information, a delegation consisting of heads of leading French universities is scheduled to visit Uzbekistan on May 19–20, 2025. During the visit, comprehensive discussions will be held on the establishment of the Uzbek-French University and the launch of its practical activities.
