In Ulaanbaatar, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh in both narrow and extended formats.

At the start of the meeting, the Uzbek leader expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and invitation for a return state visit. It was emphasized that this historic visit opens a new chapter in Uzbekistan-Mongolia relations.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation in political, economic, and humanitarian spheres.

The discussions focused on deepening trade and economic ties between the two countries. The sides noted the growing volume of mutual trade, the establishment of joint ventures, and the launch of initial cooperation projects. Concrete initiatives were put forward to expand partnerships in key sectors such as industry, geology, agriculture, and transport logistics. The opening of a representative office of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Geology in Ulaanbaatar was welcomed as a practical step forward.
The importance of enhancing cultural and humanitarian exchanges, strengthening cooperation between higher education institutions, and restoring opportunities for Mongolian youth to study in Uzbekistan was emphasized. At the conclusion of the talks, the parties agreed to develop a “roadmap” for implementing the agreements and to launch direct flights between the capitals by the end of the year.
