UZBEKISTAN DELEGATION LED BY THE MINISTER PARTICIPATES IN THE FOURTH TSUKUBA CONFERENCE

A delegation led by the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Qo‘ng‘irotboy Sharipov, is taking part in the Fourth Tsukuba Conference, held in the city of Tsukuba, Japan, under the theme “Co-creating the Future with Society.”

On October 1, the prestigious forum began at the Tsukuba International Congress Center, bringing together representatives from industry, government, and academia to discuss pressing global issues, explore solutions through science and technology, and foster effective collaboration between researchers and professionals.

At the opening ceremony, Kyosuke Nagata, President of the University of Tsukuba and Chair of the Conference Committee, emphasized the importance of cooperation between science and society in addressing global threats such as poverty, drought, international conflicts, and infectious diseases.

Toshiko Abe, Japan’s Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and Kazuhiko Oigawa, Governor of Ibaraki Prefecture, also delivered video messages.

During the plenary session, keynote speeches were delivered by Kazuo Kyuma, President of Japan’s National Agriculture and Food Research Organization (NARO), Masataka Osaki, Vice President and Country Manager of NVIDIA Japan, and Yensi Flores-Bueso, Co-Chair of the Global Young Academy.

The conference runs from October 1 to 3, featuring 35 sessions and events, including discussions with renowned scientific award winners and presentations by young researchers from leading universities and research institutions around the world.
