UZBEKISTAN–KOREA PARTNERSHIP EXPANDS THROUGH ACADEMIC COLLABORATION

Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) is one of the long-standing partners of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies. The Uzbek language has been taught there for many years. In addition, Korean students have been studying at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies as part of exchange programs for several years.

During her official visit to the Republic of Korea, Rector of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies Prof. G. Rixsiyeva delivered a lecture for students and faculty members of the Central Asian Studies Institute at HUFS on the topic “Language Education and International Cooperation in Uzbekistan’s Strategy”.

The event included discussions on current issues such as language policy, the concept of “soft power,” and the role of artificial intelligence in education.

G. Rixsiyeva also conducted a session with the group where Uzbek language is taught, observed the class process, and interacted with students.

Furthermore, a meeting was held with the HUFS Vice President to discuss prospects for further cooperation. In addition, G. Rixsiyeva met with the Director of the Central Asian Studies Institute, Dr. Son, to exchange views on future joint projects and work plans.
