The official results of the 2025 UI GreenMetric ranking were announced in Taiwan.

Among the educational institutions included in the world’s most prestigious “green” university ranking, Uzbekistan’s universities have also demonstrated commendable achievements.

This year, 1,745 universities from 105 countries were assessed in the ranking. A total of 79 higher education institutions from Uzbekistan participated, 38 of which were listed among the world’s TOP-1000. This reflects the effectiveness of ongoing reforms in our country aimed at promoting sustainable development and implementing the “green campus” concept.

In line with the declaration of 2025 as the “Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy” in Uzbekistan, our universities are becoming increasingly active in international environmental initiatives.

At the event, Obidjon Khamidov, the UI GreenMetric coordinator in Uzbekistan and rector of Bukhara State University, delivered a speech and introduced new initiatives aimed at enhancing environmental sustainability in Uzbekistan’s universities and expanding the number of “green” projects.
