“WOMEN IN STEM” INITIATIVE DISCUSSED BETWEEN UZBEKISTAN AND POLAND

The Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan, Qo‘ng‘irotboy Sharipov, held a meeting with Bianka Siwińska, Head of the Perspektywy Women in Tech Foundation.

During the meeting, the parties discussed key initiatives aimed at increasing women’s participation in scientific and technical fields and supporting their professional development.

Special attention was given to the wide-scale implementation of projects like “Women in STEM” in Uzbekistan, the organization of mentorship programs for women in higher and vocational education institutions, and improving mechanisms for supporting female researchers through grants and scholarships.

The two sides also agreed to hold the 3rd Uzbekistan–Poland Rectors’ Forum in 2026 in Uzbekistan.

This event is expected to further strengthen scientific cooperation and the exchange of experience between higher education institutions of the two countries.
