ENGLISH FOR PROFESSIONALS IN MASS MEDIA PROGRAM

September 16, 2021

This initiative is funded and organized by the Embassy of the United States of America in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and hosted and co-organized by Webster University in Tashkent. EPMM has been designed to raise the level of English language skills among mass media professionals in Uzbekistan, including journalists, correspondents, press secretaries, editors, public relations officers, and others.

As Uzbekistan becomes more integrated and involved in global political, economic, and social changes, it becomes necessary for Uzbekistan’s media to cover international events, and to report on Uzbekistan’s transformation in a nuanced, modern way. During the program, students will study English in specially-formulated, media-related classes. In this way, they will start to integrate international perspectives, information, and approaches in their work by accessing new sources of information – whether in print media, online, or through interviews with English-speaking experts.

In this application, we will ask for your personal information, a short statement of purpose (up to 150 words), and a one-page CV or Resume. The US Embassy in Tashkent and Webster University in Tashkent will not share or distribute this information to third-party or outside persons and organizations.

The deadline for submission is September 24th.
The studies will begin on October 18th.
