A NEW STAGE IN UZBEKISTAN – POLAND COOPERATION

Within the framework of the “Central Asia – European Union Universities Congress” held in the city of Samarkand, a meeting took place between Ilhom Sirojev, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Kungratbay Sharipov, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Marcin Kulasek, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Poland.

During the dialogue, the current state of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Poland in the fields of higher education, science, and innovation was comprehensively reviewed, and prospects for its further expansion were discussed. The parties placed particular emphasis on strengthening inter-university ties, launching joint educational programs, and intensifying scientific research and academic exchanges. It was also noted that cooperation between Central Asia and Europe has deep historical roots, and that today’s relations represent a modern continuation of these traditions. The importance of reforms aimed at developing human capital, improving the quality of education, and ensuring innovative development was highlighted.

The Polish side, in turn, highly appreciated academic cooperation with Uzbekistan, noting that existing dialogue platforms contribute to strengthening practical partnership between the two regions. A strong interest was expressed in expanding joint educational programs, scientific consortia, and innovative projects with Polish universities. At the same time, special attention was drawn to the need to develop cooperation in vocational education, introduce elements of dual education, expand employer participation, and improve curricula in line with international standards.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further deepen mutually beneficial cooperation.
