ADDRESS BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN AT THE REGIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL SUMMIT
April 22, 2026President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in the opening ceremony of the Regional Environmental Summit held in Astana on April 22.

The event was also attended by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow, President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh, President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan, President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili, and Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov, along with heads of international and regional organizations.
In his address, the President of Uzbekistan sincerely congratulated Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the successful organization of the summit and supported its main theme “A Shared Vision for a Sustainable Future,” emphasizing the deep interconnection of environmental challenges and the need for joint solutions.
Noting that the current meeting is a logical continuation of the dialogue launched at the Samarkand Climate Forum last year, the President expressed satisfaction that environmental diplomacy among Central Asian countries has reached a qualitatively new level, becoming more consistent and systematic.
As the leader of Uzbekistan подчеркнул, environmental issues today cannot be considered separately from global climate change.
