AZERBAIJANI DELEGATION ARRIVES IN UZBEKISTAN TO ATTEND INTERNATIONAL FORUM
July 24, 2026Ali Akbarli, Executive Secretary of the National Association of Municipalities of Azerbaijan, and Aydin Muradov, the Association’s Communications Coordinator, arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the International Sister Cities Forum, which will take place in Samarkand on July 24–25.
The delegation was welcomed at Tashkent International Airport by Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov, Rector of the Uzbekistan State World Languages University. Accompanied by the Rector, the guests visited the Center of Islamic Civilization, where they explored its modern facilities, rich scholarly and spiritual heritage, unique manuscripts, and valuable cultural artifacts.
The Azerbaijani delegation also held a meeting with the leadership of Uzbekistan’s nationwide Yuksalish Movement.
During the meeting, the guests were introduced to the Movement’s key areas of activity, and both sides exchanged views on prospects for strengthening bilateral cooperation.
