President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the solemn opening ceremony of the new campus of the Uzbekistan National Pedagogical University named after Nizami Ganjavi in New Tashkent.

The heads of state planted a tree near the monument to Nizami Ganjavi.

The presidents were briefed on the construction of the university complex, its educational infrastructure, and plans for further campus development.

The campus, being built on an area of 40 hectares, is being constructed in two stages. The project includes educational buildings designed to accommodate a total of 20,000 students, as well as student dormitories with 5,000 places.

As part of the first stage, a five-story educational building with a capacity of 12,000 students and a modern laboratory complex have been constructed.

The heads of state toured the educational and research facilities established on the campus, the information and resource center, and a museum exhibition dedicated to the legacy of Nizami Ganjavi.

The museum showcases the life and works of the great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Nizami Ganjavi, his rich spiritual heritage, as well as the centuries-old cultural and literary ties between the peoples of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.

The leaders emphasized that cooperation in education, science, and culture plays an important role in bringing the two brotherly peoples closer together and raising the younger generation in the spirit of shared spiritual values.
