THE 13TH CENTRAL ASIAN KOREAN LANGUAGE TEACHERS’ CONFERENCE TOOK PLACE IN BISHKEK

The 13th Central Asian Korean Language Teachers’ Conference was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, organized by the Korea Institute in collaboration with the Central Asian Association for Korean Studies.

This year’s theme, “Korean Studies on the New Silk Road in the IT Area,” focused on the impact of artificial intelligence, digital technology, and IT advancements on Korean language education. Over 150 professors, researchers, and young scholars from Central Asian countries participated in the event.

Elbek Sobirov, a lecturer at the Department of Korean Philology, Faculty of Eastern Philology of Uzbekistan State World Languages University, also took part in the international conference.

During the program, the USWLU representative delivered a presentation titled “From Hangul to Hybrid Classroom: Reimagining Korean Language Education through ICT Collaboration” and was awarded a special certificate for his international participation.

In the conference’s interactive sessions, young researchers, teachers, and graduate students exchanged ideas and discussed innovative approaches to Korean language teaching using modern methodologies. Young scholars from Uzbekistan actively participated in these sessions as well.

The event marked an important step toward enhancing international academic cooperation in the field of Korean studies in Central Asia.
