October 12, 2026

Today, Erkinjon Turdimov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Minister of Education and Science, held a meeting with staff members of the ministry’s system.

The meeting focused on identifying the challenges faced by young people, school pupils and university students, listening to their concerns, and creating better conditions for them to receive a quality education.

Every child should have access to preschool education, every school pupil should acquire a solid foundation of knowledge, and every university student should be able to find their place in life through the knowledge and professional skills they gain.

To this end, discussions covered expanding access to preschool education, improving the quality of education, preparing young people for professional careers, and supporting their interest in science.

Raising the status and prestige of teachers in society, recognising their work, and creating favourable conditions for their professional development so they can focus fully on education were also highlighted as key priorities.
