An official visit was held at the Uzbekistan State World Languages University by representatives of the Directorate for Turks Abroad and Related Communities under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, including Coordinator for Turkestan and the Caucasus Servet Turan and officer Omer Faruk.
During the visit, the guests were presented with a video showcasing the university’s activities, achievements in education and research, as well as its role and prospects in international cooperation.

During the meeting, Servet Turan highly praised the university’s activities and presented information on scholarship and exchange programs for universities in Turkic countries. It was noted that in 2025, approximately 180,000 applications were submitted for Turkish scholarships, of which 5,000 successfully passed the selection stage.
One of the highlighted programs was the “Katipata” project, which previously lasted 9 months but has now been reduced to a 3-month format. Participants have the opportunity to study at the Turkish Language Center of Hacettepe University and also explore historical cities of Turkey. All expenses, including airfare, are fully covered. Candidates must be under 40 years old and have at least 3 years of professional experience. A total of 16 grants are allocated for this year.
Another initiative, the “ORTAK” program, was recognized as a short-term but highly substantive initiative. It includes a 10-day visit consisting of 5 days of academic training and 5 days of cultural activities, primarily intended for senior officials of government institutions and higher education establishments. It is planned to involve 25–30 participants from each of five countries, with all expenses fully covered.
At the end of the meeting, both sides agreed to further strengthen cooperation in education, science, and academic exchange, as well as to develop joint projects and long-term partnerships.
